All you need is your e-mail address, the recipient's e-mail address, and a message that you'd like to send that will be attached to whichever card you pick out. There are countless types of virtual cards and you can find one for any occasion.
If you aren't interested in spending money on a real card and you aren't tech savvy enough to send a virtual one (or you just don't like the idea), it is possible to make greeting cards from home with very little supplies required. All you need to make a decent greeting card is some thick paper, some sort of writing utensil and, of course, any decorations that you may want to add to make it look elegant.

With a place for a stamp secured on the writing side, postcards are convenient for sending short messages to people.
